A pair of charming japanned corner cupboards belonging to Kelmscott Manor, one bow fronted, the other flat fronted. The bow fronted cabinet belonged to Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
The cabinets were neglected and dirty. The flat fronted one had been gruesomely over painted with gold paint and had a nasty split to the door panel, whilst the bow fronted one was missing large elements of raised work.
The split in the door was part closed and stabilised but could not be closed completely without aggressively changing the dimensions so had to be filled.
